Jia Tolentino uses ethos in her rhetoric when analyzing the ‘#MeToo movement’. She brings up the Brett Kavanaugh case as a way to support her idea that men use their power to avoid the truth; or support their case. Tolentino mentions that Kavanaugh acted as if he was guilty during the testimony. Ethos provides the readers with a sense of the environment and culture surrounded by the ‘#MeToo Movement’. This allows for the reader to be more familiar with the public perception around the movement.
